A Compendium of Paper Artsy Designers!

Recently a friend saw a stationery wallet I had made from some Amazon packaging. She asked if I would make one for a friend of hers; but could it reflect nature and poetry - her friend's passions? Since I started blogging back in April I've been playing along with the Paper Artsy challenges and - like Lucy last week - I realize I've been inspired and acquired many new skills as I've gone along. This wallet has turned into 'a compendium of guest designer inspirations' so I'm entering it this week with acknowledgements to all the artists who have taught me so much over the weeks. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and fabulous imaginations. If you want to share in the Paper Artsy fun just click HERE.  But how did France's techniques  find their way into the project?
I decided to include tags with poems inside the wallet so I played around with France's tissue and  Crackle technique, using lots of layers of painted tissue, Crackle Glaze and some tissue ivy leaves lifted carefully from a paper napkin. I loved playing around with the delicate tissue and getting very painty in the process! Here is the complete tag with some Crackle glazed tissue butterflies attached. It doesn't look anything like France's and I didn't think the sewing would fit with me having to have a poem on the back, but I did enjoy fixing lots of crackle and tissue layers. I'l save the sewing for another project.
If you click on the images you can see the texture a little better. I stamped with Ice Blue Fresco to create delicate leaves over the crackled tissue background and embossed in a mixture of glittery embossing powders to give the butterflies an enamelled look. They are part of a Paper Artsy 'Wings' stamp. I also added a Grunge Paste swirl in the top left-hand corner.
If we go back to the cover of my wallet - what techniques from past weeks can you spot?
There's Sue Carrington's curled book pages; Carol Quance's idea of sprinkling gold UTEE along the edges and trying not to melt it too much. There's shrink plastic medallions there thanks to Carol and France who got everyone fired up about SP again! With the butterfly medallion I discovered that if I dropped blobs of alcohol ink thinner onto alcohol ink I could create a marbled effect; here's a close-up when I added the Glossy Accents.
I'm not quite sure because it was a while ago, but was it Michelle Webb who used corrugated cardboard to create a fabulous effect? Whoever did this let me know so I can give you the credit! Then if we peep inside the wallet there's loads of Darcy's idea of making Washi tape!

There's also a picture printed on 'tie-dye' background a la Sue Carrington. There's a Crackle-glazed pocket for storing a tag. Here is my other tag which I painted with Egg Plant and Guacomole for a breaking dawn effect - and another shrink plastic medallion!
Here is the reverse side of one of the tags with the poems on them.
Finally, sorry this has been such a marathon, here is the inside with the tag just peeping out of its pocket!
Oh yes and  the tissue technique tag was attached by an eyelet and I added a few extra butterflies painted with Butternut.

So thank you Paper Artsy and your wonderful Guest Designers for providing inspiration every week and to Leandra and everyone at Paper Artsy for producing such gorgeous stamps and materials!
