WOYWW - POW!

Hello and welcome to Magpieheaven! Last week I mentioned the questions that circled around my brain such as - will our kitchen refurb ever be finished; will Granny's flat sale go through smoothly; will I find the time to craft to my heart's content? They reminded me of the far more dramatic questions that ended the Batman episodes back in the sixties! Well, this seemed to chime with a few deskers! So... here we are, Same Bat-time, Same Bat-place... and what's on my desk???
Before the rather embarrassing 'reveal', I had better tell you why I'm revealing the contents of my desk to you, anyway! It's Wednesday and that means crafters all over the world hop over to the amazing Julia Dunnit's Stamping Ground to link up and share their desks be they exquisitely spick and span or artistically messy! Click HERE if you want to step into the enchanted world of WOYWW - you won't regret it, there are some amazingly talented and lovely people out there waiting for you to drop in! Now I can't stall any longer! I let slip that Mr Magpie and myself once went to a party as Batman and Robin when we were first married about twenty-six years ago. Vonny dared me to publish the pictures and here they are! So far I've taken them from my album and flung them down on my desk. I don't scrap-book, so I'm not sure what I'll do with these when I've scanned them. Let's hope they'll have given a few deskers a giggle! I am dressed as Robin in red and yellow and Mr Magpie is the caped crusader carrying a 'villain' to justice in the middle piccie! Ahem, I haven't worn yellow tights since! I hasten to add that the same goes for Mr Magpie and grey tights!
If you click on the image, you might be able to see us a little more clearly, but I wouldn't recommend it! I await suggestions - polite ones, please, on what I should do with these! Should I collage them with this pic in which I am conversing with a beautiful wicker stag - proof that age has not made me any more sensible!
This was taken last Wednesday, after linking to WOYWW, of course! It's at the lovely Emmet's Garden in Kent and the deer is the work of artist, Joolz Doncaster!
Meanwhile my dining table is looking a bit messy. I've been having a fun time gathering together some 'Happy Mail' to send to a blogging friend.
On top of the pile, as promised, is a shot of the lovely card sent me by Kezzy at Kezzy's Crafty Journey. It's going onto my arty noticeboard after this post. And here are some elements for the project I'm planning next!
Now what could that be all about? While you puzzle it out, I'm off to have a good old nose at some desks around the world. Thank you so much for stopping by today. I will try hard to get round to as many of you as I can in the Magpie-mobile!!!

  4. Sorry I didn't get to visit last week but life just got in the way....Just not enough hours in the day to do all I 'need to do' let alone 'want to do'.
I'm really facinated by the bottom pic but must say I just love Jan's comment above :-)

  5. I bet you are not old enough to remember a programme called "Soap" which turned into a cult thing. That always finished with a long string of silly questions. It was so silly it was funny. That project looks as though it might be an exploding box??? The gym I have signed up for is called Gymophobics and is very relaxed and a good way to meet new people too, and is strictly controlled to suit each individual - only 30 minutes each time, but targeted at whatever area needed for you. It is time out of crafting but good to do so far. Have a great time this week. xx Maggie #6

  9. Cool pictures, we often make a scrap book style page in a frame, that way you have the pics to look at permanently on display.

  13. Hi Julie Ann, great pictures - and I've got to say what very fine pins you both had! I've noticed that coloured tights seem to be making a bit of a comeback... may be not then :0)

Lovely looking happy mail - someone's in for a treat.

I've still not made any progress with my She Art girl - I'm not a "draw-er" so have real trouble with faces - she might have to stay faceless and mysterious!

    Have a good week. MMx

  22. Well.... lots going on in your blog today. I had a good chuckle at your and hubby's batman and robin photos. My hubby would never be so adventurous! Now that I think of it, neither would I. What an interesting collection of stuff in your last photo. I guess we'll have to stay tuned for the next exciting episode to see what that is on about.

Isn't Kezzy a sweetie? And her art blows anyone away who sees it up close and personal. Happy WOYWW (because it's still Wednesday in my world) from #2.

  28. Holy bumpers Batman, I think we got one…. one hilarious post. TY for making me chuckle. I needed that. I too have a couple of photos I stuck into one of my journals in hopes of getting an idea on what to do with them. I don't do scrapbooking LO's, so I'm trying to decide on how else I can display them. I'm thinking of cutting around the images, collaging them and doing a Doodle/Zentangle around them. But you are way craftier than I, so I'm sure what ever you decide, it'll be fabulous. I hope that you are well. You'll be hearing back from shortly. (((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))

  33. Fun post - the question for me is - is that a man on a chair for a Christmas Cracker?!?!!
I try to Blog my photos - have sorted out most of them now into categories and have started writing about them on a word document and putting them into a folder, this way if I don't finish at least the children will know what they are about!!! I have blogged my way through all my sepia photos, ancestry to the youngsters. I try to spend and hour or so on Sundays on this, one packet and a laptop makes it easy work!

  35. Hi Julie Ann, wow I am so so loving the pictures, you look so happy and it really looked fun, mind you I can't help but think of the famous episode of Only Fools and Horses!!!! The stag picture is beautiful you look really happy, hope that means things are going well. I'm still of cold and spent the weekend mostly on the sofa. But this morning I seem to be able to hold my head up without the feeling of it falling off lol. Mind you I did get to craft a bit yesterday. Wow the lucky recipient of the tag and goodies will be over the moon, and that sentiment, I wouldn't mind that stamp, I have a feeling it will mean a lot to you. Ooooo can't wait to feel better so I can start planning our swap. It will be like a second one for you as your Paperartsy entry was amazing. It's so great to catch up. Ooooo thank you for showing my card. Happy Woyww :-) hugs Kezzy xxxxxx
