As you can see I've got my Big Shot out and I'm planning to have a good old play with this today. I am hoping that I might get some inspiration and eventually produce something I can enter for the Country View Crafts Challenge. This die of little houses was one of the first dies I ever bought and I still love it for its adaptability. The fabric is some I bought from the market and made some cushions from. I love it because in some lights it looks grey and in some it looks pink. I used it as a backdrop for a recent 'make' for Darcy's ARC. I was really excited because this piece appeared in Altered Arts Facebook Magazine. If you have time you might like to take a look at it on my blog post http://magpieheaven.blogspot.com/2013/06/magpies-second-artful-reading-review.html.
As you can see, mybright orange scissors are clearly visible at the moment; but for how long? Do they have magpie wings and fly away because they will undoubtedly disappear by the end of today! I put my ATCs on a notice board in our bedroom, but I've brought them down to have around while I work to remind me of those fellow crafters near and far crafting away with me. I wish we could all get together and have some inky and painty fun under the same roof; but the next best thing is WOYWW so I'm off to take a look at what everyone else is up to right now! OOh yes, and I am going to do a kind of gallery post of my ATCs with who sent what next week. Thanks again all!
Love the fabric, at first glance I thought it was a grey with random pink print...but it's the warp and weft thing isn't it. Shot, I think it's called. Marvellous. I have that die..and I think I've used it twice, so am hoping you'll be inspiring me! Don't talk to me about scissors...am staggered that you only have ne pair on show!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea....if only we could all link together in real life every Wednesday eh?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the gorgeous ATC and ribbons...life has just got in my way and I haven't managed to email all my friends who have sent mine to me [Sorry]. I love them all and the fact that they were sent by friends I haven't met [as yet].
Hugs,

ReplyDeleteoh love the house die, what make is it, I'm a stickler for dies although stencils come a close second at the moment! Just ordered a skyline one and have the village on my desk not sure what I am going to do with them but you never know inspiration might come to me too - let's hope it visits us both BJ#22

ReplyDeleteVery kewl die and I swear as crafters we all have a mad obsession with scissors lol we own alot and loose them all the time and it's really exciting to get happy mail from all over the world so much better then a Bill anyday
ReplyDeletehugs Nikki 2
don't talk to me about scissors, because I always seem to loose mine. Be it in the garden or when making costumes, in the kitchen or while crafting. I keep having to buy new ones...it's so confusing...I wonder, where do they all go?
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW xx
Wow some gorgeous ATC's you received. I love the fabric, and hope you have fun with the sizzix. Scissors, I have around 18 pairs and earlier today I couldn't find one pair, seriously they disappeared. I managed to find one hiding under a project and another was in my son's room that he had in his cadet box lol. Happy woyww :-) Kezzy xxx
ReplyDeleteI have that die too but haven't used it much! I may just dig it out and get going with it as you've reminded me how much I do love it! How is it that scissors disappear so easily!! Thanks for visiting, Chris 127
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit. I see you swapped with Lunch Lady Jan! When you want to make a link in your blog and not have the whole wwwtitle thing going on...select the word you want to link to (eg: Stamping Ground) and go to the top of the page where you add your photos and press "link" go to the page you want to link to (making sure you have the full address in the top bar) copy it and then paste it into the link box back where you are blogging, then the word will be underlined and peeps know to click for the link. Is that as clear as mud? #38
ReplyDeleteLovely atc's Julie Ann and a lovely back cloth which sounds as if it is beautiful too. I did follow the link but it said the page was not there - will try again later. Thanks again for the atc you sent to me - and the wallet.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Neet 17 xx - thanks for visiting me earlier - I have been crafting outdoors trying to enjoy this sun whilst we have it.
Glad to know that die is amazing, as I just picked it up on sale! Can't wait to give it go. That fabric is gorgeous, but not as gorgeous as the thought of crafting in a conservatory! Sounds like the perfect surrounding.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW and happy crafting,
Love Rachel #29
Hi Julie Ann
ReplyDeleteThanks for getting in touch. Nice busy desk I'm also loving that fabric x
So glad your PIF ATC arrived with you, and I love that material, how fabulous is the change in colour, I had curtains in a green with peacock blue shot through them which I adored but it was totally impossible to match them to anything... the colours kept changing! Annette #8
